More Pinoy and other Asian Power Rangers!

Wow, It's been two years since my post on Pinoy and Asian Power Rangers. After two seasons of Asian absence in Power Rangers, we get two consecutive seasons of Pnoy goodness! 'Theo Martin' is the new Blue Ranger played by Aljin Abella. Possibly the second actual 'pinoy' character representation, note the Chinito looks plus the Latin name.

Operation Overdrive gives us our first Pinoy Pink Ranger, though her character seems to fit the 'Latin' slot in the ranger team as opposed to the Asian slot which is taken by Gareth Yuen (more later).

Rhoda Montemayor (born May 31, 1979 in London, UK) an actress and a dancer. She is of Filipino heritage. Her premiere role was as Tiger Lily in Finding Neverland. Her most recent role is Rose Ortiz, the Pink Ranger, in Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive. She has recently finished filming a cameo role in the film Adulthood. [1]

In June of 2007, Rhoda had appeared with her fellow Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive co-stars, among other past Power Rangers actors/actresses, at the Power Morphicon in Los Angeles, California.

And a couple I missed last time:

Kevin Kleinberg (born on June 24, 1982 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actor. He is best known for his role as Trip, the Green Ranger in Power Rangers: Time Force. He graduated from Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, California in 2000. He is half German and half Filipino.

Phillip Kitsing Jeanmarie (born October 6, 1978 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actor best known for portraying Max Cooper, the Blue Shark Ranger in Power Rangers: Wild Force and as intersexed villain Vincent Clarkson, son of Julian Crane and Eve Russell, on the daytime soap opera Passions from December 2006 to present.

I have no solid bio proof that Phillip is indeed Filipino. But if he indeed is, that would mean there are two in the same sho/season 'Wild Force' along with Jessica Rey, who was the White Ranger at the time.

Overcompensating perhaps for leaving out Asians for two seasons, hehehe, here is another Asian ranger of Chinese descent (I need confirmation though). Here's 'Dax'-the guy who puts the humor in Operation Overdrive

Gareth Yuen (born 1978 in Australia) is an actor who portrays the character Dax Lo, the Blue Ranger on the 2007 television series Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive. He appeared at the Power Morphicon in June of 2007.[1]

Oddly enough, it's the newer rangers that are hard to get info on. I'll be keeping track of Power Rangers still, so keep watchin' this space.
